WELCOME TO BEV'S PARANORMAL POETRY PAGE

Below you'll find some of my paranormal poems. If you enjoy any of these, let me know. The first one, "Gestalt", was recently published in Preternatural Press' ROUGE ET NOIR #7 -- LES POEMES DES VAMPYRES, FALL, 1996, edited by Meg Thompson. Thanks for visiting my site and I'll change these poems occasionally (or as more get written!)

GESTALT

Mosaic before my eyes
mirrored reflection askew
standing behind me silently
ghostly visions of you.

previously claimed by death
presently in my view
firm torso now bloated
rosy lips turned ashen blue

the mirror is crack'd and worn
a testament to our past
dare I turn 'round to see
the spectre who's come at last?

'tis surely an apparition
no cause for alarm
yet my blood stirs icily
to the touch of human arms!

black candle burning furiously
worn spellbook case aside
novice witch once lovelorn
now reborn lover's bride.

SHADOW NOIR

How kind of you to visit me
oh shadow friend of mine
well-versed in mayhem
afficionado of sublime

Among slippery shadows dark
you stealthily invade these walls
a spectre of sensual madness
collector of mortal dolls

Your pallid, rushing hands
wreak havoc down my spine
face contorted, yet satisfied
savoring my ruby blood-wine

Now we dance the minuet noir
pale bodies pressed as one
passionate lovers by midnight,
coffin-twisted animals by dawn.

MIDNIGHT TERRORS

Shimmering shapes befoul mine eyes
curse my retinas, ashen my skies
nightmares: true or false, fetid or worse
frame my mind, prepare thy hearse

Razor-sharp terror slashes my brain
disfiguring, contorting, seeking to maim
strangled larynx clenched in fear
demonic gargoyles hiss and leer

Save me Lord, from this vicious web
this nightly 'mare-quest in my head
wrest the parasite from its core
lest my soul survive no more!
