Slugs description of this fine image follows.
These are the Petronas Towers of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They soar 1476 feet into the sky, surpassing the Sears Tower by 22 feet. Designed by Cesar Pelli, these twin towers were built on a 100 acre site. A small controversy raged while the Petronas Towers were being built. Many thought that, since the spires of the towers were counted as part of its total height, it would be unfair to give it the title of the world's tallest building. But, ultimately, the title was earned.
This image came closer to sweeping the election than any other that has been added to the Hall of Fame. It is a great image of a beautiful building. This is SLUG'S 2nd entry into the Hall of Fame....Congratulations. |
