What does the S stand for?
This is shrouded in mystery. The name was conceived in Belgium, or possibly Edinburgh or possibly on the Isle of Wight. Nobody can really remember why, it just stuck. Obviously it seemed like a good idea at the time.

How do I become a member?
Easy, you just have to go on an S division trip. As a bonus you'll even get your photo on the web page looking stupid.

What is a S-Division Trip?
After much drunken debate, the current definition is that a trip must have at least three current members of S-Division on it to count. One or more of the following things has to be done: climb a tall thing, visit a castle, visit a zoo, get lost, ghost walk, drink tea, visit the local pub, any bizarre local activities. Anyone else on the trip that partakes of S-Division activities also becomes a member from then on. A 'big' trip is either international, or at New Year. For historical reasons, a trip to Scotland counts as an international trip, a visit to Wales does not.
