Mental Capacity Test
Thought music to help you out
According to Andersen Consulting Worldwide, around 90% of the professionals they tested got all questions wrong but many preschoolers got several correct answers. Andersen Consulting says this conclusively disproves the theory that most professionals have the brains of a four year old. |
Rants and Raves
Similar to "Stuff that sucks", but less offensive or indicative of a pathetic life

The local mall set up their Christmas decorations on Nov 2nd. Excuse me for being a Grinch, but I think that's just a little too early. I mean, that's just after Halloween! What about Thanksgiving? By the time Christmas actually does come around it will be so worn out that the holiday spirit will be gone, not to mention that I'm already sick of "The Chipmunks Christmas" before December even arrives.
I was listening to the radio recently and heard an ad pitching a "How to get out of debt" guide for $39.95. What's the deal with that? Obviously these people know their market better than their market does. I was using Netscape 4.5 recently in an effort to make this page more Netscraper compatible and I was amazed at how much it sucked. NO recognition of style tags, inferior page formatting, and really badly totally screwed up no good useless JavaScripting. Wasn't Netscape the JavaScript master back in the day? Granted, I could have some sort of mysterious scripting error but that doesn't seem likely since my scripts work fine with IE and even sometimes work with Netscape. It would give random errors with no discernible cause. Then, after failing to work properly, it would crash. BTW, what's the deal with Netscape 5? Helloooo... "Survivor" is just a lame way of making TV shows without paying for real talent. Or maybe it's just a test to see how many knock-offs it can generate. I didn't watch it. Maybe I'll wait for the movie (barf). Seinfeld and "Friends" might be good but who should make $1,000,000 for a single 1-hour episode? It looks like "the opiate for the masses" is as expensive as real drugs. I don't care how fast it is; think $500 for a video card is too much when we all know that it has a devaluation unmatched in the world (except maybe fresh bread). Who has that kind of money to play games with? Online vendors who charge $20 shipping and handling for an exceptionally cheap stick of RAM or CPU really bug me. It's a really low down way of getting people to almost buy stuff from their website until people realize that they're being ripped off and leave. Why do fancy modems cost up to $150? I can buy a very nice 3COM 10/100 ethernet card that is 2000 times faster for under $70! It's not like they are especially new technology or are even a premium way of getting online these days. I hear these ads on the radio that say broadband Internet access will "push the play button on life". Apparently either the Internet is now life or they are marketing especially to people with no life... I suspect the latter. Some time ago I bought my brand new Abit BH6 motherboard just when overclocking went big-time and the BH6 came out with 66/100 override and Vcore manipulation. I overclocked my new Celeron 300 to 450MHz, (which was a dream come true at the time), only to find that my computer was horribly unstable. It turned out that SunshineStar had sold me some cheap but quite incapable PC100 SDRAM. After getting a replacement from them my system was much more stable but would still crash during Direct3D gaming. Around that time it came out on the bulletin boards and newsgroups that the BH6 was extremely sensitive to memory quality when paired with a fast AGP video card. After buying some very expensive premium Samsung -GH memory my problems went away but now every time I want to buy memory I have to wonder whether my computer will reject it... Abit are you listening?!! How about the price of gasoline these days...? I could really use some ice cream right now! |
