That doesn't last too long, other enemies come and challenge the peace that the senshi had created. To start off Sailor Moon's R Season (Season #2), two lovers from outer space crash land on Earth and hunt for energy to feed their caregiver. Luna reawakens Sailor Moon and, eventually, the other Sailor Senshi to fight off this new evil (It was a precaution that Luna and Artemis retained their memories about the fight with Beryl, etc. so that they could call on the senshi if more evil ever arrived...which, of course, it did.). Once the aliens are dealt with, a surprise visit from a girl with pink hair who has a striking resemblance to Usagi shows up and with her new evils. These ones are from the future, as well as the little girl who we later find out is Usagi and Mamoru's future child. Not only that, but she's from 1000 years in the future when Usagi and Mamoru rule the world as Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion. The little girl traveled to the past (with some help from Sailor Pluto / Meiou Setsuna, the guardian of the time gates) because her mother in the future was terminally injured. Her father used to tell her stories when she was younger about a powerful warrior named Sailor Moon. When her mother fell into trouble and new enemies started to attack her home, the first thing that came to the young girl's mind was this legendary fighter. She goes to the past in search of Sailor Moon and the ginzuishou so that she can bring them to the future to help her mother and her world. Eventually everything falls into place, the good-doers travel from the past to save the future while finding out about what will become of them. They also manage to heal and/or kill all of the evil ones from the Black Moon (the home of the ones that followed the little girl from the future).

After their defeat, the R Season ends and the S Season begins (Season #3). The little girl from before, named Usagi after her mother (but called Chibi Usa to avoid confusion and refered to as Small Lady by those close to her), joins the Sailor Senshi as Sailor Chibi Moon. She stays in the past after the future threats are thwarted in order to train for her future roll as a Sailor Senshi. The S Season is based around yet another evil that wants what is called the Holy Grail. This Holy Grail has enormous power and will let it do lots of really bad things. The Holy Grail can only be formed, however, when the three talismans are brought together. These talismans are inside people with pure hearts. The three lucky ones are Kaiou Michiru / Sailor Neptune, Ten'ou Haruka / Sailor Uranus and Meiou Setsuna / Sailor Pluto (whom we meet in R). The Holy Grail that forms from Neptune's prophetic mirror, Uranus' sword and Pluto's garnet orb belongs to Sailor Moon and allows her to transform into Super Sailor Moon. This new power helps her for a short while, but she sacrifices the grail in order to save the life of Tomoe Hotaru who is being possessed by this evil enemy. Tomoe Hotaru turns out to be Sailor Saturn and after a very painful fight, Sailor Moon saves her while killing the bad guys and nearly killing herself.

This defeat turns the series over into its fourth season, Sailor Moon SuperS. Even more confusion reigns when evil decides to go into people's dreams to do its bidding. The dreamworld that is being terrorized, called Elysion, is protected by a priest called Helios. Helios is a boy around Chibi Usa's age with short, white hair. He has a human form, but he can also turn into a winged horse called Pegasus. He is the reason for this new threat. They are chasing after him because he has something called the Golden Crystal. This Golden Crystal resides in the horn that protrudes from his forehead. Chibi Usa grows quite close to him. This is because it is in her pure dreams that he hides from these new evil beings. In turn, the evil ones chase after him by searching through the dreams of all the pure beings that they can find. All in all, the Dead Moon Circus (a.k.a. evil ones), is foiled in their attempts at gaining power and Nepherenia (the leader of the Dead Moon Circus) is defeated.

That's not quite true, though. For in Season #5, Sailor Moon Sailor Stars, she comes back. She causes a ruccus in the first six episodes, taking control of Mamoru and abducting him in order to lure Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon catches the bait and everyone (ALL the senshi, Mercury -> Pluto, and Chibi Moon) takes a trip to Nephernia's little realm. All of the senshi undergo trials, facing their faults and fears, and are eventually trapped by Nephernia. Sailor Moon makes her way to the throne room, though, and is able to save everyone (even comatose Mamoru) by healing Nephernia. We find out that Nephernia was actually a sweet young child who just felt lonely, so Sailor Moon shed some tears in sorrow for the woman and then healed her.
