At this point, Chibi Usa finally goes home to the future. Mamoru also leaves to go to college. He applied to Harvard in the United States and was accepted. So, he leaves on a plane flight (with a really sweet scene between him and Usagi), but the flight is interrupted by a new evil. The rest of season five deals with this new evil, a major boss named Sailor Galaxia and her evil senshi. She is possessed by Chaos and so is corrupted to want to rule the universe. In order to do this, she must find and destroy the brightly shining star seed (every living thing has a star seed - special one's become sailor crystals which are transported to planets and grow with the planet...they then turn into sailor senshi and protect their planet) of the pure fighter for good. She steals thousands of star seeds in her search, never coming up with the one that shines. Along with her arrival comes that of Chibi Chibi (a cute young girl who fans rumor to be Chibi Usa's daughter or Usagi's second daughter, but both of these rumors are false - for a more in depth view on her part in Season 5 go to my Season 5 synopsis) and the Sailor Star Lights. They, too, are senshi (our Solar System senshi find out in the season that there are senshi all over the universe) and the Lights have come to Earth in search of their princess. She disappeared after Chaos rained down upon her home and destroyed it in order to find the being of pure light that could save the universe from Chaos. The princess is known as Kakyu from planet Kinmoku and the Star Lights are the protectors of the Kinmoku system. Anyway, all of the senshi are killed in the battle against Galaxia/Chaos (their star seeds are taken from them) except for Chibi Chibi, the Lights and Sailor Moon. Moon faces Galaxia/Chaos in one final battle and manages to heal her in one last desperate act. Galaxia was once a good senshi (as are all senshi), but Chaos attacked her planet and in order to save it and to try to save the universe, Sailor Galaxia sealed Chaos inside of her own body. Moon destroys Chaos, however, and frees Galaxia's soul. In so doing, she brings back all of the people whose star seeds were stolen, including Princess Kakyu and...

This is one of the sweetest scenes in all of Sailor Moon. As she's flying with her wings in the air (she and Galaxia fought in the air), the senshi materialize around her in a circle. She is overjoyed at this because she thought that she had lost them forever. They all give her comforting words ("I knew you could do it." etc.), but the real comfort comes when she hears a voice from behind her say...

"Usako..."

She turns in disbelief to see Mamoru (dressed as Prince Endymion) holding Chibi Chibi Moon. With tears in her eyes, she soars to him while shouting, "Mamo-chan!" They embrace and he, too, lends her soothing words.

The scene changes to the inner senshi and Mamoru saying good-bye to the Lights and their princess. Then it flips again to Usagi and Mamoru, at dawn, standing at a rail looking over a lake. Usagi asks him how much he loves her and he responds,

"Usako, when I'm with you, you fill me with energy."

They kiss with the full moon rising behind them. Usagi's voice overlays the scene saying: "I'm Tsukino Usagi, 16 years old, in my first year of high school. I'm a little clumsy and a little bit of a cry baby. But actually, I'm the fighter for love and justice, Sailor Moon."

The End.
