Story:

A mysterious Navisforce has taken control of the Internet!! Now it's up to Lan and his friends to infiltrate the Dark Chip Factory in the Nebula Headquarters and destroy the Dark Chip production system. The survival of cyberspace hangs in the balance!

Overview:

Avid video gamers from the early 90s will not be unfamiliar with the character Megaman, a.k.a. Rockman (Japanese Translation). It was made famous on the earliest Nintendo console as a 2D side-scroller platform game that is highly addictive. With rich colors and interesting characters, the player controls Megaman who is on his quests to save the world.

The story differs from the original series of Megaman, which exists in a world filled with robots. For the Megaman Battle Network, players take on the role of a boy named Lan who has an alternate identity of Megaman in the cyberworld. Megaman is often thrown into various life threatening situations where he has to battle monsters (in the case of this cyberworld, they are termed viruses -.-") and protect the world from evil organisations.
