12-point, regular, Arial.

 

2. File <Save as> Word Project at the <My Documents> folder.

7. Type the following (20 min) :

A Day Off

So you want a day off. Let’s take a look at what you are asking for.

261 days available for work per year excluding holidays, and weekends.

30 minutes each day on coffee breaks, leaving only 68 days available.

1 hour lunch period each day, leaving only 22 days available for work.

We offer 5 holidays per year, so your available working time is down to 15 days.

We generously give you 14 days vacation per year which leave you only 1 day available for work and I’ll be damned if you’re going to take that day off!!

 

8. Perform Word Count and Speller Checker.

 

9. Perform Outline-style Bullets and Numbering.

 

Select the text in the document :

11. Type the following (20 min) :

Voodoo

Voodoo is a form of African witchcraft that travelled to the West Indies with the black slaves. It is now practised mainly in the Caribbean Islands. Voodoo ceremonies are performed by priests and priestesses who are often possessed by spirits. These spirits send the priests and priestesses into trances and make them perform wild dances. Voodoo witch doctors can not only put curses on people but they can also heal the sick. Sticking pins into a model of the cursed person remains one of the most common ways of inflicting pain.

13. File <Save> Word Project.doc at the <My Documents> folder.

 

14. To prepare for attachment of pictures at our e-mail system (or insertion of pictures to our Word documents), let's travel to the carribeans to collect pictures from www.col.com

Point to each picture in the web page

(i) right-click to display the short-cut menu;
(ii)
left-click to <Save Picture As>;
(iii) change the name of the file (optional)
and
left-click to <Save> at <My Documents>, <My Pictures> folder.

 

15. Practice Insertion of Pictures in the Word Document.

 

Insert any Picture(s) from <My Documents>, <My Pictures> folder to the document with the wrap-text using the picture layout option.

 

Set a 2-column document and design your newsletter.

 

 

 

16. Practice file attachment to Outlook Express e-mail.

17. Are you able to receive your attached files (Check Mail)? How about your friend sitting beside you having a copy of your email with the attached document and pictures?
