 Validation and Expansion of Ideas

With my technical knowledge computer engineering and concepts of software engineering so far, I am not sure how to validate the idea of using immersive virtual environment for certification. And since the software is not mentioned in the article, there is no new procedure/algorithm nor extensions that I may propose.
