While sitting eating our
breakfast a hiker (One Thing) came along. He was from
California. One Thing hiked most of the At last year, but had
to pull off; so, he came back this year to try again as a
thru-hiker. I ask him how he got his name. His reply, "I
do just one thing, get up and hike every morning!" |
Jay met two people on the
trail from England today, but I missed them. I hear that they
hiked all over the world and will be going to Australia next hike.
I hope I get the opportunity to meet them. |
Hiked into Gooch Shelter and
signed the register. The shelter was just built last summer -
two story with pictures and poetry on the walls, and a molding
privy with No Door ;) :) :) I hated to pass up that shelter
but it was only 1:30pm. We decided to hike a couple of miles
more and stay at Gooch Gap in our tents. |
Several people are here too tenting.
Good water source, but its quite a hike to get the H20
has to be carried up hill. Supper over (Mac and Cheese)
and off to bed soon. Simon has already sacked out on my
sleeping bag -- soo-o the fight will soon be on! |
Tell Marge, the pen she
gave me for "Best Write-up" is working well. Nice night for
sleeping. Going to Suchess tomorrow, about 2 miles away.
I'll re-supply there and do some laundry. Good night! |
