Sandgate Toastmasters

What happened last Meeting

11th December, 2001  Christmas Breakup

"White Christmas" was the theme for the night. Most Toastmasters wore white. Red and Green were also popular colours and Santa hats were in abundance. The tables were lavishly decorated with tinsel and Christmas ornaments. The mood was merry.

Round Robin
Kellie asked "What are you thankful for?"  Most were thankful for their families and for living in Australia. Other responses included "airconditioning in shopping centres,"  "elastic pants and flowing tops"  and "wives and sweethearts - may they never meet!"

Poem

Penne read a poem she had written about "White Christmas". No, it wasn't about snow, it was the delicious confection made from copha and rice bubbles. (We sampled some "White Christmas " and other goodies during the break.)

Party Time

We partied for 30 minutes and worked in pairs on a challenging Christmas Quiz presented by Trish. After a couple of rounds of "Celebrity Heads," Secret Santa Marlene and Elf Christal distributed the gifts.

Table Topics

In the absence of the Table topics Master, 5 people quickly thought of a topic each and chose a "victim"

1. What did you do when you saw mummy kissing Santa Claus?

2. The Christmas trees have gone from the other side of the mountain.

3. If you were an alien and saw a sign that said "Watch this Space," which space would you watch?

4. He sees you when you're sleeping...

5. How do the reindeer celebrate Christmas when they get home?
