What happened last Meeting
Andrew took on the role of Toastmaster for the first time. His confidence increased during the meeting as he explained the roles of each participant. Wordmaster Caroline introduced the word "Shekel" an ancient Hebrew monetary unit. the word was used frequently during the evening. Round Robin Kim asked our views on the Media. Do News Journalists blow things up? The general consensus was that News reports are often misleading and not worth a shekel. Quote or Thought Del spoke about taking hold of every moment rather than waiting for a special occasion. Table Topics Kellie introduced the titles of songs for her Table Topics. 1."Everything is New Again." Liz spoke about of old performers who were making a comeback at the Entertainment Centre. 2. "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend." Caroline said there were many other things she would rather spend her money on. 3. "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." David told about his dream of owning a Tri-maran and sailing somewhere over the rainbow. 4. "Strangers in the Night." Monica said the noise she heard during the night turned out to be not strangers, but a mouse. 5. "I Am Woman" Annette spoke about gender roles and said she was glad she didn't know about them when she was growing up. 6. "If I Had a Hammer" Doug knew the song well because he had played it on his first guitar. He delighted us by concluding his topic with a song. 7. "This Old House." John spoke about his home and the affection people have for the homes they have grown up in. 8. "What a Wonderful World." Del
spoke about how lucky we are to live in our part of the world.

which he will present at the Division Conference and asked for an evaluation
from the entire club.
