1983-84 DEBORAH KAHEA PAM COOLEY CHELSEA DARCEL GAYLE TONY The 1983-84 DANCE TROUPE appeared in the SOLID GOLD 5 DAY WORKOUT which was released on both VHS and LASER DISC! It's still possible to get a copy of the workout tape on VHS! They were also featured on mini-posters found in SUPER SUGARCRISP™ Cereal! Be sure to check out the MINI-POSTERS section in our PHOTO GALLERY. DEREK "COOLEY" JACKSON joined the show. Naturally talented, "COOLEY" never took dance lessons. He did, however, serve as a dance instructor. He was the man who taught MICHAEL JACKSON how to do the "backslide"! In high school, "COOLEY" produced and choreographed a show called "The Boppers". Joining SOLID GOLD gave the "COOLEY" the opportunity to once again work with ANITA MANN who had "discovered" him in 1978. After appearing in shows at DSNEYLAND, he went with ANITA to GERMANY to appear in "Hello, Here's Berlin", a musical/variety review which featured many show business legends including LOLA FALANA, WAYNE NEWTON, BEN VAREEN and LIZA MINNELLI. Before he danced his way onto SOLID GOLD, "COOLEY" danced across the UNITED STATES playing "GROVER" in "Sesame Street Live". "COOLEY" has been recording music for several years.
