-Punctuation, spelling and capitals will be our focus through the use of our agendas (accuracy in copying messages that model good writing form) and we will also pursue this worthy self-editing goal soon in our personal dictionary/spellers. -P.A.R.I.S. -Poetry: Students will build upon their own poetry anthology. This week, we finish our second poem, Character Bio Poem and begin the ever poetic, Haiku. During the poetry unit, the teacher will read at least one poem per day. Students who have either written or found a poem will be given the opportunity to share them with the class. -Journal Entry: No journal entry

-School: We will continue to write school subjects in brief, easy sentences using the conjugated verbs, ÉTUDIER and AIMER. -Pronunciation will be developed through small group work and by playing the game, Tribal Pronunciation. -French is taught using the four modes/skills of learning. This means that all students have the opportunity to learn through listening, speaking, reading and writing. |

Weather Watch -preparation of titlepage and table of contents -Glossary: atmosphere, climate; meteorology, temperature, thermometer, weather -Activity: Describing the Weather – Students will go outside and describe the weather according to descriptors (cloud, wind, precipitation & temperature) on page 5 of their duotangs. Then they will make predictions as to tomorrow’s weather. |
Weather Watch -Glossary: convection current, draft, front, wind, wind chill) -Describing the Weather (students go outside and record their observations and verify their predictions from yesterday) -Demonstration: Classroom Temperature (students will record the temperatures from various locations throughout the classroom and relate it to a much larger system – outside) |

-We will continue to use our art techniques, the use of fonts, misting and wet-on-wet painting by applying these techniques to our daily work assignments in order to embellish them in preparation for grade 6 achievement and to present our work in a prideful manner. -Tessellations 2 art/math
projects are scheduled for next week. We will create an irregularly shaped tessellation and,
once we determine are working on two tessellations: the first is on square
dot paper and the second one is on isometric dot paper. |

numbers 2) We are finishing up
with our Character Bio poems and beginning Haiku. 3) We officially began our Weather Watch unit in science
today. *I need to return my report
card envelope to school.
Wednesday: 1) Math:
MQ230 all and MQ231 all; My work
from yesterday was peer evaluated this morning. 2) We have been outside a couple of times now for weather
observations. Let me share my
learning with you. 3) I have one
letter from the school for you.
Thursday: 1) Math: MQ232 odd numbers and MQ233
odd numbers 2) We have no library
tomorrow as there is no school. 3)
We will be having a pizza party next Thursday. Please expect a letter and order form on Tuesday. 4) Have a pleasant long weekend! Don’t forget to oral read and practice
your numbers!
