Welcome to the
wonderful world of Shawn Wilsie. I'm sincerely honored
you decided to stop by.
If you really want to
know more about me, here goes:
I am a show host for the cable
shopping network "ShopNBC" where I can
be found working between Midnight and 3 AM Eastern time,
usually Friday-Tuesday.
I started with the channel when it was known as ValueVision back in 1991. I've had experience
selling electronics dating back to my high school days and I
specialize in computers. I started the networks regular computer
show each Saturday and Sunday morning in 1999.
Prior to ValueVision I was working production for Afternoon Midwest, a daily cable talk show that aired to about 500,000 cable homes in the Twin Cities. I was also a DJ for KRPR, a radio station that played Alternative music in the late 80's. My retail experience also found me selling housewares, and domestics for Dayton's now Marshall Fields.
In my spare time I am
constantly having to do something, it's very difficult
for me to sit in front of the TV for more than an
hour, in fact I watch very little TV. I would much rather be on the internet while listening to my XM radio.
I have a growing
collection of items from Las Vegas hotels and casinos,
most have been used in actual hotel/casino operation.
Among my "treasures" are dealers shirts from
the Stardust and Gold Coast, room service menu from
the old Aladdin, a dealers "shoe" from the
imploded El Rancho and (my favorite) a
working telephone from a room at the aforementioned El
Rancho.
I've also got a bit of a video game hobbie but I usually get bored with them before I finish them.
