  • There will be a THREE  hour time gap (...a three hour time gap...) between the wedding and reception. Unfortunately, thats not quite enough time to enjoy the nearby "World Famous" Sea World Park. We do recommend that you visit Seaport Village or Balboa Park. Both of which are relatively close to the Bahia and both are Free! YES..FREE!!! (well, except for Balboa Park's Major Museum Fee's)

World renowned Balboa Park is home to fifteen museums, various arts and international culture associations, as well as the San Diego Zoo, making it one of the nation's largest cultural and entertainment complexes. Displays of internationally significant art treasures, exotic animal species, unique model railroads, world folk art, sports memorabilia and rare aircraft (just to start) are on display in the park's museums. This 1,200-acre urban park, just minutes away from downtown San Diego, is also renowned for its brilliant displays of seasonal flowers, shady groves of trees, and meandering paths through rolling lawns.

Seaport Village is San Diego's landmark for waterfront shopping and dining. A unique collection of shops and restaurants recreate a harborside setting of a century ago. The 75 one-of-a-kind shops and variety of tasty eatery options keep tourists and locals alike coming back repeatedly. This is the best place to shop with your out-of-town guests, your kids or your grandparents. The variety of tourist nick knacks is abundant. You'll find the t-shirts, hats, mugs and refrigerator magnets that will fit easily in your suitcase and delight all of your family and friends back home.

Check out Southpaw, the store exclusively for lefties and take your kids over to the carousel or the arcade when shopping gets to be too much for the little ones. When the heat of summer finally overwhelms you, snag an ice cream at Ben and Jerry's and wander over to the Embarcadero Park for a shady bayside respite. Keep in mind that his is a high-density tourist attraction. Many of the stores cater to this clientele, stocking almost nothing but souvenirs and gift items. This isn't the place to do your home-furnishing and fashion shopping.

This is a great place to bring your babies and do some stroller walking along the Embarcadero. There is plenty to entertain your kids -- including balloon-sculpting clowns, an old fashioned carousel and an arcade.

If your plans include staying a little longer, visiting Sea World is a must. SeaWorld is one of San Diego's most popular attractions. It's famous for its spectacular stadium shows: Dolphin Discovery, Wings of the World and, of course, its splashy star, Shamu the killer whale. And splashy it is: Sit in the first 15 rows and you'll get soaked when Shamu rolls over and churns the surf in the tank.

Immaculate and loaded with awesome exhibits and endless fun for kids, SeaWorld is a spend-the-day-and-spend-your-money kind of place. But once you've seen the amazing sight of a 10,000-pound whale lurching through the air with a guy in a wetsuit clinging to its snout, you'll forget all about the small fortune you forked over to watch.

The whole park is a kid's paradise. Cut them loose at the Coco Loco Games and Arcade; for the tinier tots, try Shamu's Happy Harbor.
