Hawwa was to appear in 2002 as the official journal of the Association of Middle East Women's Studies. When the 2002 Board of Directors revoked the AMEWS raise in dues which would have covered subscriptions, and asked to postpone the arrangements with Brill, Brill cancelled the journal.Read Dr. Zuhur's article on Normalization.
