Rob is my oldest son. After graduating from the University of Washington, Rob "hung out" for a few years working on "the Ave" and playing in his own band. Eventually, the lure of his first love, computers, drew him back to technology. After playing catch-up for a couple of years, he accepted an entry level position in a pension management company. It wasn't long before IPC realized they'd hired a mailclerk and gotten a computer programmer. There was an opening, an interview, and the rest is history. In 1997 Rob was wooed away from IPC by Centurion Technology. He purchased a two bedroom condo with a creek in back and acquired a dog. Andy is a red Doberman pinscher Rob rescued from the brink of the grave. Walking Andy twice a day gets Rob outdoors and promotes a healthier lifestyle. Currently, Rob is the much appreciated Systems Manager at Mila, Corp. with offices just a few blocks from where he lives in north Seattle. Life is good. Rob is single and enjoys computer games, books, concerts, travel, playing his guitar, furnishing his condo, and walking Andy.
A laid back Rob.
Lisa is the middle child. I believe the birth order proponents would say she's suppose to be the even-tempered peacemaker, walking in the shadow of the older brother and up-staged by the younger. Problem is, none of this sounds like Lisa. She's confident and as focused on relationships as Rob is on computers. Friends and animals are very important to Lisa. Growing up in rural Alaska, she had full responsibility for her own pony and, later horses, dogs, and cats. After earning her BA in Psychology and Masters of Education from the University of Alaska, she moved to Seattle. She met Justin while working as an elementary school counselor in the Shoreline School District. They were married August 3, 2002 in Manitou Springs, Colorado so her 90 year old grandmother could attend the wedding. Lisa and Justin presently reside in Santa Clarita, California. Justin is an engineer with a company that builds power plants. That means they'll move around quite a bit. Lisa is employed as a facilities coordinator working with youth and their families in the Los Angeles area. Besides being a happily married young woman and helping people, Lisa enjoys working out, horseback riding, hiking and camping. There's not much opportunity to ride right now, but she hopes to have her own horse again someday.
Solomon & Sheba.
Scott, the youngest, excels in just about everything he tackles, a combination of brains and brawn. Everyone who knows Scott admires him. I think he's as proud of being a member of
That leaves me. I'm an active Alaskan woman with roots that go back to Texas and Colorado. The experiences and struggles of my life helped me understand WHO I am, WHY I'm here, and HOW to get the most out of life while I get to WHERE I am going. That and my family are the main focus of my considerable energy. To pay the bills and provide structure to my life, I work in the Human Resources Department of the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District as an administrative assistant. I've had an eclectic vocational history; however my most beloved career was that of homemaker. I was privileged to be a full-time presence in the lives of my children during their formative years. I cherish that. I don't know what God has for my future; I enjoy writing. Even if those stories in my head are NEVER published, I'll be content in my later years knowing that guiding Rob, Lisa, and Scott to adulthood was my most significant contribution. I believe I'm squeezing all I can out of the time I'm here. I enjoy hiking, camping, crosscountry skiing, reading, travel, and my computer. My travels have taken me to Mexico, Canada, England, France, China, Peru, Thailand, and Burma. In September 2001, I achieved one of my two lifetime travel goals when I trekked the Inka Trail to Machu Picchu. That just leaves the mountain valley of Papau new Guinea. Maybe next year...
