List 7 “Iraq under the Anglo-American Occupation “Years 2003 up to date” On March the 20^th, 2003 the Coalition forces consisting manly of an Anglo-American armed forces invaded Iraq and ended Saddam’s rule, which lasted about 35 years. During the invasion battle days all postal activities stopped starting from the 20/3/2003 to 7/5/2000. The idling period took longer than expected because of the messy and disorder events directly after the war activities ended and the disappearance of Saddam’s regime. The Iraqi postal authorities were intending to release many new stamp sets during the year 2003 but never been issued because of the war preparation. They should have printed the annual army day issue on 6/1, the annual issue on the 2^nd gulf war (So called “Um Al-Maariq”), The American attack on Al-Amiria sulter and many others. Also the issue of Nuruz Spring festivals on 21/3/2003. Obviously, all these issues are now regarded canceled. Directly after the war actually ended, Iraqi Kurdistan started using the Iraqi postal issues, as they started being covered by the Iraqi postal services after more than 12 years from being out of Baghdad’s rule control. During these 12 years no real postal services were available there despite the existing of many stamps sets commemorating their different issues, which in fact never been used. Instead Turkish postal facilities were used for the Governmental and individual postal correspondences with the world. The new sets should bear the new Iraqi currency instead of the old Iraqi Dinar, which was under the inflation pressure. In fact, old Saddami Iraqi Dinar reached the rate of 6000 for one USD on the days of battle operations.

القائمة 7 العراق تحت الاحتلال الانكلوامريكي الأعوام 2003 وحتى اليوم في العشرين من شهر آذار عام 2003 دخلت قوات التحالف المتكونة من قوات أمريكية وإنكليزية وغيرها الأراضي العراقية غازية للإطاحة بنظام صدام الذي دام حكمه ما يناهز الـ 35 عام. توقفت الأعمال البريدية خلال أيام المعارك في كافة أنحاء العراق ابتداء من يوم 20/3/2003 وحتى يوم  7/5/2003، وقد أخذت وقتا أطول قبل استئنافها لأعمال الفوضى بعيد انتهاء الأعمال العسكرية ورحيل نظام صدام. لقد كانت إدارة البريد العراقية تزمع إصدار أكثر من مجموعة خلال هذه السنة ابتداء بإصدار الجيش السنوي في 6/1/2003 وإصدارات الذكرى السنوية لام المعارك (حرب الخليج الثانية) وقصف ملجأ العامرية وغيرها. كذلك إصدار أعياد نوروز الربيع في 21/3/2003. ولكن لانشغال الدولة العراقية بأمور التحضير للحرب وحشد الطاقات منع طبع هذه الإصدارات ومؤكدا إلغائها من برنامج هذه السنة. بعيد انتهاء الحرب بدأت الطوابع العراقية تستعمل في منطقة كردستان العراق والتي لم تكن مشمولة بالخدمة البريدية لكونها كانت خارجة عن حكم السلطة المركزية في بغداد فخلال الـ 12 عام الماضية (أي بعيد انتهاء حرب الخليج الثانية وتحررها من سلطة صدام). رغم هذا فقد صدرت طوابع خاصة بكردستان طبعت في الحقيقة لأغراض إعلامية، حيث لم يستعمل على أي من الأغلفة المرسلة من كردستان إلى الخارج. بدلا من هذا فقد استعملت خدمات البريد التركي للتبادل البريدي والتواصل الدولي لدوائر الحكومة والأفراد. أما عن فئات الطوابع الجديدة فهي بالعملة الجديدة بدلا من الدينار ألصدامي الذي عانى من ضغوط تأثيرات التضخم التي أوصلت قيمته إلى أكثر من 6000 دينار للدولار أمريكي خلال فترة العمليات العسكرية.

All 4 margins are white.     Color and Printing Method: Multicolored Lithography on ordinary glossy white gummed paper.     Printed in Asawir privet printing house and later perforated in Al-Nahrain Printing house, Baghdad     Quantity printed 1,000,000 from each denomination.     The good quality of paper used amended the quality of stamps compared to the older issues quality.
