Firstly the Emergency Services number is 999 (no area code needed) this is a free number from all mobile and land lines, this for the Police, Fire Service, Ambulance and Coast Guard.

London Tourist Board: This has a very useful accommodation booking scheme.
Lost Property: All items handed in which were lost on the tube, buses or black cabs will go to the office, 200 Baker Street, they may take 3-5 days to get there.

Electric supply: Throughout the UK the electricity supply is 240v AC, the plugs are a three pin square type.
Currency: Is in pounds and pence the notes are £50 , £20 , £10 and £5, the coins are £2 and £1 , then there are 1p , 2p, 5p , 10p , 20p , 50p.
Never pick up a mini cab from the street as they are most probably uninsured and unsafe, it is best to get a number from a local office or use London's Black Cabs.
