Around the Web you can come across various themed Chats or sites that just chat about anything under the sun. It is a good way to meet new people with the same interests as you, new people in general or just a great way to pass the time away.

Remember, before you join up with any of the Chat rooms on the Web, read the 'Netiquette' guide relating to Chat. Nobody likes a person who's intention is purely to harass others and spoil their fun on the internet.

POWWOW
The newer beta version has become available for download or upgrade, enhancing the features of the prior version.

I love using Powwow and find it alot of fun with all the great features that it has to offer.
It supports voice (all you need is a sound card and mic) and enables you to float and chat while surfing the web. You are only able to communicate with other people who are running POWWOW and they offer a directory for everyone (and separate one for adults) and also alot of Communities that you can join to partake in their on line discussion (listing is available from the site).

Another great breakthrough!!
This program is great for seeing if your pals are online, easy to use and easy to configure.

This program also comes with all the extra's like POWWOW, chat, instant message.... It also has a great security feature. When you register with this program you will receive your very own personal ICQ UIN number.
This is great to add to your business cards (or if you are like me and don't have a business card, it looks cool on your sig in an email :)
I highly recommend this program and while it is free at the moment, I hear they are having intentions of putting a price on it.
