This is the EZ File Upload that is found in your 'File Manager' (the page that your 'directory' is on ).
This works as a File Transfer Protocol Client, and is used to upload files, graphics etc.. to your Directory.

BROWSER SUPPORT

These browsers currently support the 'EZ File Uploader' feature:

If you view the 'EZ File Uploader' using Microsoft Internet Explorer and can't see the 'browse' button, then you can get a 'patch'. This is a 'file upload add-on' available for Windows 95/NT.

DOWNLOAD - File Upload add-on.

If you aren't sure, visit No Browse Button details.

OTHER BROWSERS AND CONFIGURING THE FTP CLIENT

For users of other 'Browsers', here are a couple of FTP Clients available for download on the Internet.
These will have their own instructions of how to set it up and use.

CONFIGURATION

This following information will be entered:

  • "Host" = "ftp.geocities.com"
  • "User or Login ID field" = Your GeoCities Member Name
  • "Password" field = Your GeoCities Password
  • Connect to Geocities.
  • the directory (/pub/members/tools) will be displayed. This is the directory in which to transfer your files.
  • Transfer your files exactly how you want them to appear in your directory.
  • 'binary' or 'raw data' option should be used to transfer your non-text files (gif, jpg, zip etc...).
  • 'ASCII' option should be used to transfer HTML and text files.

Once your files are transferred, you will not see them listed in the directory. This is for security purposes.
