If you don't have Adobe Acrobat reader you may get it here Adobe Acrobat Reader.
If you can't unzip a ZIP file you can get software to do it here WinZip.

Installation Instructions

Unzip the zip file in its own directory.  Double click the setup.exe file in Windows Explorer (or File Manager) and go ahead with the installation.  The file ER_Test.xls which contains the dataset analyzed in the Quick Start Guide will be in the same directory to which the software was installed (the default is C:\eregress).   Keep in mind that you must load er22.xla from the same directory to have the software available to you.  One can do this from within Excel or from the Start Button - Programs - Essential Regression program group.  One must enable macros when opening the file for the program to run.

Note that you may encounter an error message "Compile error in hidden module" which is Excel's arcane way of telling you that the Solver is not loaded on your machine.   You need to install it from the Office97 disk (follow Excel's online help to install it).  This will solve the problem.

Some users have been recieving error messages like "Compile Error in Hidden Module" or "Path does not Exist" or "Path not found" on initial startup.  For tips and advice on these start-up and other problems please see our FAQ page.   Please give us feedback on any issue.   If you are reporting a software problem please indicate your operating system, your Excel Version, and which version of the software you downloaded.  If you would use our  Feedback Form we would appreciate it.
