During the 1998-1999 school year, I went to the Governor's School for the Arts in Norfolk, VA to take music. There, I studied piano. I took the Theory 3 course offered, and as part of the course, I was required to create two 16-measure compositions.

Each was required to use secondary dominants and a Neopalitan chord. In addition, the first one had to use borrowed chords and at least one augmented sixth (Italian, German, French). The compositions I created are below in MIDI format.

Theory Project 1 (1-20-1999, 1,630 bytes)
Theory Project 2 (5-24-1999, 2,455 bytes)

After listening to the second project, see if you can figure out why there are sections where only the ocarina plays. Hint: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Note that the web site won't help you; playing the game will. For a few more hints, view the source code of this web page (and look in the keyword META tag).
