ActiveX controls can bring the power of desktop apps into a web page. The only catch is, you need
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.0 or higher to view
the pages. To create pages containing ActiveX controls, you will also need
Microsoft ActiveX Control Pad. It is possible to use ActiveX controls even without Control Pad
but this editor makes things a lot more simpler. The following sample uses the Menu Button control to create a site navigation utility (You navigate this site, ofcourse). Menu Button control is a signed control from Microsoft, so you don't have to worry about security. Press 'Yes' when the browser asks you for confirmation.
