Grant's TextureEnhance 2.0

What's new in Version 2.0

A Copy/Paste feature.

When you click OK on the TE panel, all the current settings will be copied to memory. (Clicking Cancel will copy the default settings to memory.) The next time you start a NEW TE panel, the settings from memory will be applied to all the options on the NEW panel.

Animateable Values.

Every numeric option (including color) can now be animated by clicking the checkbox next to the appropriate option, and adding correctly named Control Objects (Nulls).

Except for color, the X position in Meters (world coordinates) of each Control Object will replace the set value in the Panel.

In the case of animating color, the X position replaces the RED value, Y replaces GREEN, and Z replaces BLUE.

The Control Objects are named in the following manner:

If the Control1 text box contains "GreenSurface", and the Layer 1 Mix % is Checked, TE will look for an object named "GreenSurface Mix".

If TE cannot find a certain Control object it will let you know by bringing up an error, eg.

"Line 581, invalid object name 'GreenSurface Mix' provided to getfirstitem()"

If you're not sure how to name the corresponding Control Object, Render the surface, and it will tell you what it's looking for.

You can parent Control Objects to other Controls, if it makes animating values easier.

Some values (like Luminosity, Diffuse etc....) have a maximum value of 100 in the TE panel. If you would like to use as high as 400 (like Lightwave itself) you can move the Control Object to 400m. (Any further than that will result in a value of 400 being used.)

You cannot use Control Objects to set any of the values below zero (Any X position less than zero will result in a value of zero being used.)

As soon as you have a Control Object for any one of the options, it will over-ride the input value.
