The Marvin Team will begin to expand very shortly (Calan needs a static IP, SHOULD be available in September). This is the way it works:

Each member on the team from all over the world will design and build components (both hardware and/or software). These components will conform to standards that the team has set. This way, members can design and build many copies (or unassembled kits) of one component and trade it for other components with other team members or sell it to other team members. This way you only have to design and build a few different components, and you can get a full robot out of it. How you trade/sell/buy is completely up to you! The only thing that being a team member will do is give you access to other members so that you can buy, trade and sell pre-built or pre-designed parts.

Dues is a very unlikely thing unless the team begins to get large enough to require expensive software to keep track of everything. If dues are ever required, you will be informed in advance and allowed to leave the team if you wish.

The standards for building robots will be implimented on the fly as members are designing. If you want to create a standard (a pinout for a socket for example) you must first contact Calan in order to check whether or not a standard is in place. If it is not, you will be given permission to create it.

Everyone is strongly encouraged to abide by set standards. This way everyone will have compatible hardware/software with everyone else's hardware/software.

If possible there will also be a mailing list to which you can subscribe.

Though recruitment has not officially started, if you are interested please email me and I will put your name on the list. Please include your name, age and where you live, and PLEASE put "JOIN MARVIN" in big BOLD letters in the subject line. I get a lot of junk mail that I like to delete and I don't want to miss your email.

Let's build some ROBOTS!
