The gentle reader is reminded that a CTOS license would be required if you wanted to run CTOS on a PC.
Results of my expermenting with a ASI PC and CTOS.
Simply put, it seemed to work fine.
Machine was an ASI Pentium II 350 64MB
(Intel SE440 BX-2 board and Phoenix BIOS v6)
After fitting a Clientcard III, I was getting an E:B6.
The IRQ setting on the card (IRQ 9) was conflicting with "something" else. Changed the IRQ to 11, and the machine started to boot.
Then a blank screen occurred after CTOS loaded. VAM had failed to initialise the video. A check of the PLOG showed an ERC 80.
Throwing the Matrox AGP card out, in favor of an ATI AGP Rage Pro Turbo card fixed that problem.
CTOS booted as a vClstr, and there was the signon screen.
Logging on, I was greeted by the usual problems of CTOS thinking the machine is a 80486 with a Hardware ID device (see this note).
Apart from that, all seems well!
