The Dismal Swamp (or GPS Programming)

From an article posting to comp.sys.unisys:

While merrily trying to diagnose a programming bug (causing an ERC 80), I was reading GetGPSDeviceConfig part of the CTOS GPS Programming Guide.

For the field sbLocation, the explanation was thus:
"Printer Location, for example, Printer Room or Dismal Swamp, as displayed in the Print Manager"

Dismal Swamp??? :-)

Gee, was the tech. writer having as good as day as I was?

Either way, it gave me a good laugh, and I found the program bug shortly afterwards.

The bug???  Well if you don't pass a valid printer device name to cbDeviceName, it causes an ERC 80 when you call GetGPSDeviceConfig.

On reflection, I should have said when you call GPAMOPEN, an ERC 80 occurs ;-)
