CNC machine - Base The base is the part of the cnc machine that houses the working table on which the PCB will be mounted (the yellow part in the figure above), and the linear bearing that moves the table longitudinally. The base make use of two flat surfaces (the square profiles) and a threaded rod. The rod is mounted onto two ball bearings, that allow it to rotate freely. The table (yellow) makes use of two L profiles to secure it onto the base with no lateral motion. Note that when assembling the parts you have to ensure that both the table Lprofiles and the base square profiles are parallel. Since this is practicaly impossible to do manually, I included two other L-profiles in the base(white). Therefore by using the geometry of the Lprofiles, one can clamp the two sqaure profiles parallel . As for the yellow Lprofiles, I widened the screw holes that hold L-profiles with the plate, manually clamped to the base assembly and then tightened the screws when everything was in place. The following figure depicts the assembly as viewed from below. Note how the table mounts on the threaded rod. Note that the M6 bolt is not displayed - it should be located between the mounting plates on the threaded rod. The table and base construction diagrams are listed below.
