My Computer "History"

[Yes, that's me...surprisingly, the camera survived!]
If you've come to this page, you must be really bored! I don't frankly have that much "Computer History".
My first introduction to computers was in 1977, at High School. That computer was a time-sharing jobbie, and the language that machine understood was so arcane that I couldn't gather too much interest in it...but, it was a foundation, of sorts. Between 1977 and 1996 (when I finally had my own computer to tinker with), numerous friends and acquaintances allowed me to 'play' on their computers, but, just long enough to play several games, usually shoot-em-ups and Role Playing Games (RPGs). One friend, Rich, had access to a Tandy (I think...), and, I'll never forget the several days I spent trying to keyboard then 'debug' a game into the thing...oops, onto it's cassette tape! I guess that's when the computing bug bit.
Since March 1996, I've been trying to learn this computer, inside and out, when I've got the time. Now, I'm writing web pages and batch files, both of which are types of 'programming'. With these pages, I'm merging my HTML capabilities with this dissection of my Windows95 computer, and, I hope, providing a resource for people who want to learn a little more effortlessly than I did!

Problems

Part of my history with this computer includes losing 622,128 bytes to bad clusters, in two incidents, which happened to destroy my system's Registry files as well. It happened inexplicably and unexpectedly, but, I'm happy to report that I haven't experienced those difficulties, since. However, I have learned from those mis-adventures, having re-installed Windows95 more times than I want to count, and, have made certain to back-up my Registry files!
As to hardware, I've 'popped-the-top' and boosted the RAM from 16MB to 48MB, and replaced the original 6x CD-ROM drive with a 12x. Not too much experience there, but, doing it right (getting the computer to work correctly, again...) is quite a boost in confidence!
