Browser Idiosyncracies

As with all 'like' things, there are none-the-less differences. There is a subtle dichotomy between my Chevy and somebody's else's Porche...over and beyond the fact that it isn't mine. Although my clone computer and an IBM PC from 17 years ago share a common ancestry in their ROM-BIOS chips, I wouldn't trade mine for that one. So, too, there are differences between Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE), and, how each operates with these pages. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that either Navigator or MSIE is the 'better' browser, rather, I'm just stating the different ways that these pages work, for each.
Both Netscape and MSIE open the links to Text Files immediately, and, both play the included AVI files. When it comes to the links to opening Windows95 Help Files, Directories, and Programs, all browser versions tested gave warnings when trying to open either directories or Help (.hlp) files, or run programs. Although these warnings are Good Things™, in the instance of these particular web pages the warnings are unnecessary because they are Help Files, Directories, and Executable Programs which are already installed upon your own computer.
So, before getting too deeply into these web pages, and opening Windows95 files and programs left and right, you should find out what to expect, using your specific browser, or, one close to it.
