Help Files

Above is the warning flag that Navigator 4.04 will bring up when you attempt to open Help (.hlp) files, also, if you've opened a directory listing, and, want to open a file from it. Because I believe your computer to be clean of viruses, I think that you can open the Help Files and files linked to in these web pages, without any problems. If you're worried, of course, you can choose to "Save it to disk", rather than "Open it", as the files will work as well copied to a floppy, for instance, but, again, as these are files already residing on your computer, you don't need two copies of them (except for back-ups, maybe...).

Program Files

When you click on a link to a program file on your hard drive, there isn't any warning message, nor the choice to "Open it". Instead, clicking on a program link immediately opens a "Save As" window. Because you cannot run these programs from the browser, I'd suggest going ahead and saving the program to a floppy, as the program will run just as well from there as from your hard drive...and, it might bring you a little more piece of mind. I won't suggest saving these program files to your hard disk because they would just be duplicates of files that are already there!
