RRotel RX-802 - our second best-selling
Rotel unit. Receiver yielding 2x50 watts. cont. 8 ohms. It also
had a superb FM tuner. It was the uppermost model of "The
Black Jap" series.
The most-selling "Black Jap"
was the RX-402 - 2x25 watts receiver. |
|
And this is how the rest of the
world saw "The Black Japs" - with shiny aluminium fronts.
See the RX-802-page. |
|
And here it is - the best-seller
- the RX-402. 2x25 watts/8 ohm/full-range, both channels driven
simultaneously. With a reasonably good tuner and exactly the
controls one needs, it retailed in Norway for NOK. 2.490,-. We
only imported a few specimens with alu. fronts. |
 |
To contrast with above unit - the RX-103
was the bottom-line of the Rotel receivers (2x5 watts). This
model was never imported to Norway - the cheapest one here being
the RX-202 mkII - a 2x20 watts receiver. From the start Rotel
catered very well for the lower price ranges, giving much value
for money, gradually advancing in quality. There was never much
technical problems with the Rotel products. |
 |
AsAt the end of the seventies Rotel got
much more aggressive in their design. The RX-803 is a typical
exponent of this. Over it in the receiver-line was only the RX-1203
and the RX1603. Both exterior and interior quality was outstanding. |
|
The RSX-965: Rotel's present top-of-the-line
AV-receiver. 5x75 "real" watts with all the bells and
whistles. AC-3, DTS and Dolby Prologic. Separate output for connection
to separate, powered subwoofer. Of course, the signal from the
various channels can be taken directly from the preamp, for coupling
to external poweramps. |
