IN YOUR DREAMS

I recall the day you walked away
and with heavy footstep tread.
I watched with tearful eye
and a soul that felt like lead.

I knew you had no choice;
I had to let you go.
But I'll be brave just like
the little soldier that I know.

With nothing but your memories
I imagine you alone,
thinking of what you left
wishing you were home.

You'll take it day by day
knowing I will too
and when you're feeling lonely
there's just one thing to do.

When the first stars appear
in distant ebony sky
look up at the moon
and think of you and I.

I know there are times
when you feel scared and alone,
but I'm always in your heart;
I'll be here when you get home.

I'll see you in your dreams
no more lonely tears to cry,
so rest you weary head
and close those pretty eyes.

No more fears to be heard.
No more worries to be seen.
I'm with you there and here
not just in your dreams.

Over beautiful blue green sea
far enough away
by the time I see the sun
you've finished with the day.

Time only has one meaning
while keeping us apart,
the longer your away
the fonder grows my heart.
