I easily installed 64mb of ram, which is the max. Ihaven't upgraded the cpu yet, but tried with an evergreen 180mhz overdrive chip. Total disaster! Your website has proved invaluable to me in that I found all the info I needed to upgrade. The powerleap 20 should be here in about 10 days. I'll write back to let you know the whole story!

I'll start by saying this is the first computer I have owned. Boy! What a big mistake I made buying this one! I feel very cheated! I upgraded the ram to 64meg. Works much better now. I upgraded the video memory to the full 2meg allowance. I over-clocked the cpu to 166mhz. disableabled internal 33.6k modem, I now use a 3com/USR 56k x2. v.90. The system works as well as can be expected, I guess. WARNING! Don't buy one of these. It has NO L2 cache! NONE> also it is not Upgradeable beyond what I have done to it! NO PCI SLOTS!--no slots of any kind. I bought this one rather blindly and have learned my lesson, now $1400.00 short with a trash system to boot! It has amazeing problems running any game software released after 1996! i.e. quake2. Now that I know alittle more about computers (via internet access)I will never, never buy another packardbell of any kind, make, or shape. This is the worst computer I have ever had the displeasure of using and I own the ++@@#! thing. --live and learn!
