BREAKING NEWS: GAMECUBE'S SUCCESSOR IN 2005?!? 4:26 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
In a recent interview with Reuters, Nintendo of Japan President Satoru Iwata basically officially confirmed that GameCube's successor and Nintendo next next-generation console will be released in 2005, the same proposed year of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 2. However, because software developers may not be ready in time, Nintendo may push the new console into 2006. Satoru Iwata also said that Nintendo would not be pulling a "Sega" and pull out of the console market. He went on to say that "When we withdraw from the home game console, that's when we withdraw from the video game business". Spoken like a poet. Finally, Iwata went said that in order to boost hardware and software sales, Nintendo will be releasing more games that take advantage of the GCN-GBA Link. Yay.

Metroid Movie In The Works 10:37 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
While it has yet to be confirmed, Variety.com is saying that a movie based on Nintendo "Metroid" series in in the works. Apparently, Hollywood producers Warren Zide and Craig Perry are the ones who have acquired the rights. The two are just now beginning to seek out writers, directors, and some actors and actresses to fill out the roles. Realistically speaking, I wouldn't expect to see this movie hit theatres until 2006 at the earliest. On a personal note, I just want to say right now that I do not support the production of this movie. I honestly believe this movie will flop and Nintendo will lose too much money on this, just like Square did with the Final Fantasy movie. Moving to another topic, I am nearly complete with updating the Codes section. It should be finished by this weekend...I hope.

Link Confirmed For Soul Calibur 2 10:14 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Yes, it's true. Namco revealed today that Nintendo famous mascot, Link, will indeed be a secret playable character in the GameCube version of Soul Calibur 2. Obviously for ethical reasons, Link can't be seen on PS2 or Xbox. So because of this, the PS2 version will instead have Heihachi from the Tekken series as a secret character, and the Xbox version will have the comic book character Spawn as a secret character. Soul Calibur 2 is currently set for a March release in Japan, meaning it will probably come stateside sometime this coming summer.

3 New Reviews 10:09 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Yeah, I know I said I was going to post these reviews next weekend, but I cleared my writer's block over the weekend and got all of them done. The three games I reviewed were: Super Mario Sunshine, Star Fox Adventures, and Metroid Prime. I believe the scores I gave those games were: 9.5, 8.8, and 9.3; in that order. In other news, Nintendo has officially announced that a Pokemon game is indeed in the works for GameCube. Apparently, it is supposed to be released tthis coming summer in Japan, which means the U.S. should get it by August or September. And besides Pokemon, Shigeru Miyamto recently confirmed the development of Pikmin 2 and Animal Crossing 2. Sweeet. We're only halfway through the first month of the year, and already sequels to some of the best games of 2002 have already been announced.

MEGATON REVEALED! 11:03 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Well it finally happened. Nintendo finalled unveiled it's "megaton bomb" today in New York: the Game Boy Advance SP! While I still don't know what "SP" stands for, the GBA SP does in fact have a backlit screen. Yes, yes, I know this is a GameCube-only website, but the "megaton" has been rumored for so long, I just figured I might as well reveal what it was so the rumors can be put to rest. In other news, I am currently making a MASSIVE overhaul on the Codes section. I haven't updated it in months, and hence the archive of cheats has now already doubled in size. AND I'M ONLY UP TO THE "M"S! When I'm done, I expect there to be triple the amount of codes there were before. Also, I should mention that I am nearly complete with my reviews of Super Mario Sunshine, Star Fox Adventures, and Metroid Prime. Expect them to be available for reading sometime next week...maybe.

Happy New Year! 11:05 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Wow, I cannot believe it's the year of 2003 already! Ah, 2002 was a very good year. Full of some very satisfying games. Oh yeah, and some important political crap too. 2003 holds a lot in store for gamers. Zelda comes out at the end of March(which by the way, I pre-ordered on EBGames.com yesterday), F-Zero also debuts on GameCube, and Final Fantasy makes its debut on a Nintendo system for the first time in 7 years. I can't wait to see what kind of secret information is revealed at E3 2003 in May and the newly announced convention UGE in August. And one last thing, make sure everybody keeps their resolutions true. I on the other hand don't believe in resolutions that way I can do whatever the hell I want! HA!
