The Coalition is No More 3:06 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson Yes, it's true. I regret to inform you, my fellow Nintendophiles, that I haved indeed, after several weeks of consideration, decided that I will be shutting down this site and will in fact accept the position that I have been offered by the Nintendo fansite, Nintensity.com. Actually, that's not entirely accurate. What I will most likely do instead of actually deleting this webpage, is rather just not update anymore, but leave all of my texts for viewing. Of course, most(if not all) of it will be transferred to Nintensity for viewing, so I guess either way it wouldn't really matter. Anyways, the truth is, this site just doesn't get enough hits. Literally nobody views it. Geoshitties just doesn't work for me. So, instead, I will sacrifice owning my own site, to work as a staff member for another, where I can actually get publicity for my work. Well, this is goodbye, my fellow gamers. But just remember. My views and opinions havent been silenced, they have simply moved to the house around the corner. L8r. Friday, February 28, 2003 N.G.C. Downtime 2:01 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson I just wanted to update real fast on this last day of February that for the next three weeks, there will be no updates to this site, and for two reasons. The first is unavoidable and is that for the next three works I will be working like every day of the week at my new job and I won't get a day off until after Spring Break is over. I won't get home until late at night, at which point I will be too tired to get on the computer and type. Secondly, I am going to take the next three weeks to seriously consider the offer from the website, Nintensity. So basically what I am saying is that the next time I update this site will be in the last week of March and will also be the first update of March at the same time. It may in fact also be the last update I'll ever make to this site as well. L8r, Nintendophiles. Tuesday, February 25, 2003 Nintendo to Go Third Party? Not Bloody Likely 4:38 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson Wow! Another update so soon? Well, I just figured I should at least mention this. According to a new report from Strategy Analytics, Nintendo is losing ground in the console war(duh!), and they suggest they should go third party, like Sega did. Nintendo has yet to comment on this, but I doubt that such a thing will happen. Nintendo of Japan President Satoru Iwata said a while back that they would never do such a thing. However, I do have to agree with S.A. that their online plans aren't as clear as Microsoft's and that they need to start taking more measures into attracting the more mature teenage audience, seeing as how Sony is pretty much reigning the living room of that particular audience. Monday, February 24, 2003 Job Offer From Nintensity 3:16 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson Greetings, Nintendophiles. Again, I must apologize for the lack of updates, but this time I have a good reason. A couple of days ago I received a job offer from one of the staff members of the Nintendo fansite, Nintensity. The site is doing quite well on their own and has the potential to be a rival to sites such as Nintendophiles and possibly even Planet GameCube. I must say I am honestly considering sending in an application and working for them. I mean, working for this site could be my firs stepping stone towards writing for a video game magazine like EGM, which is my life dream. Sure, it sounds like good news, but the downside for working for them would be that I would most likely have to shut down THIS site. I really don't want to do that, but the truth is, I'm not getting much publicity here on Geoshitties and I rarely get any feedback on the site. What feedback I DO get is bad. I have told the site that I am considering the job and will get back to them by the end of next month. That means that this site could possibly only have a month left of life in it, if not less. Anyways, I just thought all of you should know. Monday, February 17, 2003 First Update of February 2003 3:11 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson Yeah, sorry about the lack of updates recently, Nintendophiles. This has just been a really slow news month. Nothing is really going on in the world of Nintendo. The only major things are that Nintendo is looking to take large measures to finally put away some of the widespread and blatant piracy problems with the video game industry. This is smart, considering Nintendo and it's developers lost nearly $650 million is sales in 2002. Also, more than 250,000 gamers have reserved their copy of "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker" before the official pre-sell program has even started. Zelda:WW looks to be the best selling game on GameCube, and there's still a month left before it is released!
