Happy Halloween 10:30 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Happy Hallow's Eve everyone! I haven't updated in a couple of weeks, so I figured I should one last time this month. Okay, let's see, there's not too much going on in the world of video games right now. Next month, however, that will change dramatically for Nintendo. I am of course talking about how Nintendo will be releasing their newest games for their most famous franchises, such as Metroid Prime and Legend of Zelda: Baton of the Wind. I honestly believe games such as these will help sell tremendous amounts of hardware for Nintendo. Nintendo got off to a rough start, but I think the next 3 or 4 months will show overall how they will do over the next 3 or 4 years, or however long it will be until they release their next system.

BREAKING NEWS: NINTENDO TO LEAVE CONSOLE BUSINESS?!? 10:20 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Strategy Analytics, a global research and consulting company, is now saying that Nintendo will "probably" leave the console business and just make games in the near future. By the end of the year, Sony's PS2 will account for 72% of total global shipments, followed by Nintendo GameCube at 16% and Microsoft's Xbox at 12%. Several factors lead to the conclusion that Nintendo will probably exit the console market since the survival threshold for any game platform is now in the region of 15-20 million systems deployed. This continues to rise as games development costs increase. Would Nintendo really go the way of Sega? Personally, I think this information should be taken with a grain of salt. Now, swallow the whole salt shaker. I realize Nintendo isn't selling hardware as much as they should, but that will change very soon. Xbox may outsell the GameCube by the end of the year, but future games such as Metroid Prime and Legend of Zelda: Baton of the Wind will probably sell a couple million systems by themselves. Unfortunately, some of Nintendo's biggest lineups weren't released until the end of 2002, which hurt GameCube's launch, but in the end, I think Nintendo will end up beating Microsoft using its arsenal of exclusive titles in 2003 and beyond.

Nintendo's "BIG BOMB" 9:57 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Sorry for not updating in a week, but nothing huge has been happening in the world of video games. The last big video game announcement was that StarCraft: Ghost, a game similar to Metal Gear Solid 2, will be released on all platforms sometime next year. However, the newest announcement is a doozy. Nintendo is claiming that they will be making a HUGE announcement sometime in December that will drastically affect the hardware sales of the GameCube, referring to it as a "BOMB". Some sites have speculated that the "BOMB" is something along the lines of a Mario Kart On-line, or a Cube Wars On-line. Then there was a strong rumor of a Panasonic Cube overshadowing the GameCube. And now, the newest rumor is of, get this, a "GBA 2". It sounds ridiculous considering the GBA has only been out for a year and a half, but respectable sources such as CVG and Edge Magazine are claiming to have "specs" on the system. The "specs" claim the "GBA 2" will have of course a new shape, FOUR face buttons instead of two, a BACKLIT screen, more RAM, a faster processor, and more. Yeah, well, I don't know about you, but I wouldn't expect a new GameBoy out until at the very least 2005 or 2006.

N.G.C. Now Hiring 9:39 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Well, my birthday was yesterday. That's right. I am now 18, and can do many things I couldn't do before(legally). What does this mean to this site? Absolutely nothing. However, I have been doing a lot of thinking lately, and I have decided that this site has enormous potential and that I really want to start working on this site more. I realize I don't have much on this site, but not having a staff doesn't make things easy. But I know that's not an excuse. I am really going to start looking into hiring people to work on this site. Of course, if I ever want this site to become famous, I have to get off GeoShitties and get my own server. And of course for that, I need money, which is something I have none of right now.
