More Editorials 10:53 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
I just wanted to mention that I have written two more editorials for this website. One is about online games, which I wrote last Wednesday. The other, which I wrote on Monday, is about Nintendo and Square developing together again. I am currently working on yet ANOTHER one. This new one will probably be pretty short, since I will be writing about the one year anniversary of the Nintendo GameCube. Also, I want to apologize for not updating the past couple days. It's not necessarily because I've been busy with school, but that not a lot has been going on in the video game industry right now. Capcom released Resident Evil 0 and officially announced Resident Evil 4, Retro Studios released the much anticipated Metroid Prime, Ziff Davis and Electronic Boutique announced a new gaming magazine, GMR(short for Gamer), and finally there is a rumor going around about a "Megaton Announcement" by Nintendo sometime before the end of the year. And that's basically the past 9 days in review.

GCN/GBA Linkup Possibilities 10:47 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Well, I just got done typing a new editorial I wrote today. This one is about the GCN/GBA link. It's a little shorter than the others, and I didn't include as much opinion in it that I usually do, but it's still a pretty good read. I am working on two others right now, and they are about Nintendo and Squaresoft teaming up again and the other one is about Nintendo's online plans. As for the ones I mentioned I was going to write about(Minoru Arakawa and Hiroshi Yamauchi), I will probably do those last because I want those to be extensive and therefore I need to do a lot of research. The ones that I have been writing lately I don't need to research that much because most of it is common knowledge to me, which is mainly due to the fact that I operate a Nintendo fansite.

Two New Editorials Added 9:53 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
That's right Nintendophiles! I was SO bored and had SO much free time at school today that I wrote not one, but TWO editorials. The first one is about the sale of Rareware to Microsoft. The second one I kind of rushed, but it is about Nintendo's kiddie image. Very cool. I guess I had the journalistic juices flowin' today. I don't know. Anyways, after writing these two editorials today, I realized I always have a lot of free time at school, so I guess maybe I'll start making this a regular thing. Ever since me and Chris Lawley launched this site, the Editorials section has long since been ignored. I recently realized that I want to become a journalist and work for a video games magazine(hopefully EGM) in the future. So, if that's truly what I want to pursue, I think it's best that I get as much practice as possible. I'm not entirely positive what I'll write about next, but right now I'm thinking I'll write a little tribute to Minoru Arakawa and Hiroshi Yamauchi, who retired this past year.

BREAKING NEWS: SUCCESSOR TO GAMECUBE ALREADY IN THE WORKS?!? 9:42 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
According to a new interview with Peter MacDougall, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Nintendo of America, yes. A press conference was held at the Gerard Klauer Mattison Conference in New York today. There, MacDougall put to rest all the rumors that that Nintendo would be leaving the console market. MacDougall went on to say that Nintendo is now realizing why they are trailing behind in the console wars, and are talking aggressively and planning aggressive actions to catch up. The following is a direct quote from Peter MacDougall: "For two decades we’ve responded to doomsayers who saw us about to be trampled by other technology, other publishers, other manufacturers. To be sure, today we remain the last pure play in the sector, challenged by two much larger, more diversified competitors for whom video games are but a single strategy within a larger mission." He later said, "Nintendo is in the software business - to stay. Nintendo is in the handheld business - to stay. And Nintendo is most certainly in the home console business - to stay. Work is well underway on the successor technology to both Game Boy Advance and Nintendo GameCube." A successor to the GBA and GCN already in the works? It certainly seems so. I also seems that Nintendo is FINALLY starting to get serious. Congratulations to Nintendo for finally growing out of the diapers!
