Merry Belated Christmas! 7:36 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Sorry for such a late update after Christmas, but I have been having so much fun with my 3 new GameCube games: Super Mario Sunshine, Star Fox Adventures, and Metroid Prime. Three very awesome games. To tell you the truth, I have actually really only been playing SMS and SFA, as Metroid Prime isn't as great as I originally thought it would be. Anyways, I have already started writing reviews for these three games, and should be posted sometime in the next 2 weeks or so, maybe longer for MP since I haven't been playing it as much. Anyways, I hope everyone out there made as good a haul as I did this year. Gotta go now. I am still stuck in SMS trying to kill that damn giant manta ray in Sirena Beach. L8r.

Capcom NOT To Be Bought Out 2:01 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Okay, Capcom of Japan OFFICIALLY denied the buy-out rumors by saying "We have no immediate plans to merge or tie up with other game makers.". Notice they said "...no IMMEDIATE plans..." That could still mean there's a chance! Perhaps they are waiting until later(like E3 2003)? I don't know, maybe I'm being too hopeful. Either way, we now know this isn't Nintendo's "megaton announcement". However, the Sega buy-out rumor has yet to be debunked...

Happy Birthday N.G.C. 2:50 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
What's this? How am I updating so early in the afternoon?!? Well, I am done with school now, so I have tons of free time(until I get a job). Anyways, I'm not positive, but I think yesterday was the 1-year anniversary of this website! YAY! Actually, to tell you the truth, I think this site was started earlier than that, more like late November some time. BUT, for now, let's just assume yesterday was the 1-year mark. In other news, there have been new rumblings about what Nintendo's "megaton announcement" could be. There was a new rumor that said instead of being bought out by Nintendo, Capcom would become a first-party developer and Sega would actually MERGE with Nintendo. Then, there was a new(and more plausible) one today that said Capcom and Sega would not be bought out, but rather 3-5 new games would be announced from Capcom(in addition to the previously announced 5). The newest rumor also said that Nintendo would announce a new "Pokemon" game for GC ad would also announce GBA's future. COME ON, NINTENDO! STOP LEAVING US IN SUSPENSE!

BREAKING NEWS: NINTENDO TO BUY OUT BOTH SEGA AND CAPCOM?!? 10:26 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Yes, I know I just updated yesterday, but I just HAD to update again about this. SPonG.com(the same site that was the FIRST to break out the rumor of the Rareware buyout) is now reporting that Nintendo could possibly be buying out both Sega AND Capcom. Both companies have good relations with the GameCube and GameBoy Advance, and both companies are in a bit of financial trouble, so it's not completely out of the question. There is currently no proof being offered. Some sites are reporting that the official announcement from Nintendo could come as early as next Monday or Tuesday, while other sites are saying just before Christmas. Could THIS be Nintendo's heavily rumored "megaton announcement"?

New Convention Announced 10:50 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Tired of never getting to see the Electronic Entetainment Expo(E3) for yourself? Well now, a new convention has been announced, the Ultimate Gamers Expo(UGE). UGE will take place August 15-17 next year, and will basically be exactly like E3 except the public can get in for a mere $20 fee. Very cool. In other news, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed the development of Pikmin 2 and Mario 128. And speaking of Miyamoto's work, the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker was released in Japan this week, and received a PERFECT 40/40 score from the Japanese gaming mag Famitsu. It looks like Nintendo finally has a weapon against Sony and, umm, that other company.

Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker 10:10 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Yup, that's the U.S. translation for the new Zelda game for GameCube. It was confirmed by Nintendo of Europe on Monday. However, there is some bad news on the Zelda front unfortunately. Apparently, Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will be delayed from its original February release to March 24. Nintendo has yet to state WHY Zelda was delayed, but it most likely has to do with production costs, translating, etc.

Ura Zelda Coming Stateside 8:15 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Hey there Nintendophiles! Sorry for not updating in a couple of days, but I have been out of state for Thanksgiving visiting my sister. Anyways, quite a bit has been going on the past week. For one, it was announced that Square and Enix will be merging into one company sometime next Spring to cut down on production costs, etc. Also, there is a strong rumor going around that Nintendo is considering dropping the price of the GameCube to just $100. Neither NOJ or NOA have confirmed this rumor, though it would explain the supposed "big bomb" announcement Nintendo will be making later this month. Also, there is a rumor going around that the United States and Europe will indeed be getting Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Ura Zelda for GameCube, but not a part of a pre-order deal, but rather as a separate game to be released sometime next Spring...supposedly.
