Resident Evil Review Is Up 8:38 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Well, I finally beat Resident Evil today. YAY! I spent over 13 hours on the game over the past month and a half. I must say though, the ending was rather...anti-climactic. At the end of the game you were supposed to fight the Tyrant a second time on the helipad before you could escape in the helicopter, but that didn't happen. I used the Signal Rockets to signal Brad the helicopter pilot to come, and he came and took Jill and Chris away(without Barry, Lisa Trevor killed him). That, and the mansion was suppoed to blow up, but it didn't. I don't know why. Anyways, I wrote a review for the game and posted it. I should also have a review of Spider-Man very soon as well. I wanted to post both at the same time, but I didn't get around to typing it yet. I should have the Spider-Man review sometime tomorrow afternoon.

Decisions, Decisions 9:57 PM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Well, my parents had a garage sale yesterday, and I made a profit of $39.1. Take that plus the $25 I got a couple weeks ago for painting our deck, and I have a total of $64.1. Well, I DID anyways. I went to Wal-Mart today and bought Spider-Man for GC. And I must say, I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED. It's so incredibly short. The game only has 22 levels, and I was at the 17th after the first 2 hours into it. That, and the camera and the control scheme is real screwy. I think I'm gonna return it tomorrow. After I get my money back, I don't know what I'll buy. I was thinking of buying Advance Wars and Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 for GBA. I also considered buying a wireless Wavebird controller, which comes out for sale tomorrow. Eternal Darkness is released on June 24, so I might wait for that. Then again, Super Mario Sunshine comes out in August. And then there's the matter of Metroid Prime and Starfox Adventures, which come out this Fall. It's a damn shame I don't have a job, then I wouldn't have this problem of saving for games.

Nintendo Dropping Out Of The Hardware Race? HELL NO! 10:47 AM CST by: Trent Dickerson
Earlier today, Nintendo announced something that many believed would come one day: Nintendo believes that todays consoles are as powerful as they need to be, and that Nintendo wants to focus mainly on software now, and not worrying about having the most powerful hardware platform. Does this mean Nintendo is dropping out of the hardware race like Sega did? HELL NO! Nintendo's new stance is coming up with new and original software(Pikmin, Animal Crossing) and expanding upon their existing franchises(Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Legend of Zelda). This was emphasised at E3 this year with their "Game Giants" mantra, resulting in Game Boy Advance and GameCube versions of Mario, Zelda, and Metroid titles. So what will happen if Nintendo (and Sony, Microsoft) can't deliver on original game experiences, and rely on better hardware? "The effort to produce machines with better technology has reached its limit," Satoru Iwata, President of NOJ said. "If things continue, they may lead to the decline of the entire game industry." Well said, Iwata-san.
