  • Shigeru Miyamoto and Satoru Iwata were recently in Las Vegas. There they discussed US ports of Kyojin no Doshin and Animal Leader, the Triforce Board, and a confirmation that Animal Forest + is coming stateside.
  • Nintendo released new screenshots of Mario Sunshine today.
  • Rare released new screenshots of Starfox Adventures today.
  • Silicon Knights released new screenshots of the eerie GameCube game Eternal Darkness today.
  • Retro Studios released new screenshots of Metroid Prime today, including one of Samus using the infamous grappling hook.
  • Pikmin was awarded the Excellence Prize for the Digital Art Interactive Division from the Agency for Culture Affair today.

  • Crave announced today that it will develop a UFC fighting game, tentatively titled Throwdown, for GameCube. There will be heavy emphasis on the Create-A-Fighter feature.

  • Video Game Advantage is selling a TV adapter for the Game Boy Advance for the low, low price of $69.99. It has stereo, AV, and S-Video jacks. Modification of your GBA takes only a few minutes! Instructions included in box.
  • Sega's recently released sales figures show that Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, exclusive to GameCube, is the #1 selling game in it's first week of availability.
  • Nintendo Cube Clubs finally reach Europe. At least in the Netherlands and France anyways.
  • Japanese gaming mag, Famitsu, recently interviewed the creator of Kyojin no Doshin, a up-and-coming Japanese GameCube game. In it, he stated his opinions on the changes form the 64DD version, Giles Goddard's influence, and other things about the game's development.

  • In a recent interview with "Shiggy" Miyamoto, he states that Nintendo intends to keep it's promise of it's shipment of 4 million GameCubes by March for Japan and the States overall.
  • In a recent interview with CNN in London, Shigeru Miyamoto discussed his opinions on networking and online games.
  • The Matt Groening cartoon Futurama is to be made into a game courtesy of SCi and UDS for all platforms in 2003.
  • SCi Entertainment Group Plc. of Europe announced today that they will be developing Rally Championship for Nintendo's GameCube, due out the first half of 2003.

  • A Louisiana woman is suing Nintendo, alleging her 30-year-old son suffered seizures after playing video games for eight hours a day, six days a week.

  • Koei, the developers of Battle Houshin, a Japanese action game for GameCube, announced today that they will be making Magical Houshin, a GBA game that is linkable with the Cube game.
  • In a recent interview with Ananova, Shigeru Miyamoto apologized today for the delay in the European launch of the GameCube. His reason? Because they were busy working on Mario Kart3, of which Shiggy mentions Sonic the Hedgehog might be in the game.
  • Nintendo of Japan President Hiroshi Yamauchi announced today he wil be retiring in June.

  • Computerandvideogames.com recently held an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto, while he was in London, in which he discussed the Triforce Board, Yamauchi's retirement, Nintendo's online plans, and a possible online Pikmin game.
  • Overgame.com recently had an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto while he was in Paris, in which he mentioned a possible connection between the new GameCube Zelda and a possible GBA version.

  • Namco announced today that they will develop Ridge Racer 6(tentative title) for all platforms, which will be released in November in Japan.
  • Soul Calibur 2 to be released in Japan in August...along side a GBA version of the game which has link up capabilities with the GameCube version.
  • Left Field, formerly the developer of 1080o Snowboarding 2, announced today they are no longer a Nintendo 2nd Party.
  • Recent video games sales showed that GameCube hardware sales are increasing in ratio to the Xbox.
  • EA recently released the first screen of Lord of the Rings, which is due out Q3 2002.
  • A Swedish gaming site, FragZone, recently interviewed Shigeru "Mr. Videogame" Miyamoto.
  • AOU 2002 Amusement Expo to take place tomorrow in which several arcade games as well as the recently announced "Triforce Board" will be displayed.
  • Retro Studios is hiring level designers for Metroid Prime.
  • Thrustmaster to develop the Firestorm Powershock Controller for GameCube.

  • Universal Interactive to develop the "Scorpion King" for the `Cube.

  • At a recent interview with Shigeri Miyamoto at the opening of the Italian manufacturing plant, Shiggy commented on the GameCube's design, Zelda's new look, and possibly getting Sonic the Hedgehog as a Nintendo exclusive.
  • InterAct to develop the GameCube GameShark, due out April 2002.
  • It appears that the GCN/GBA link cables are out for sale now, but apparently, the one and ONLY place they have been found is on Nintendo's website in their online store.
  • It was announced today that Nintendo, Sega, and Namco will team up to create a new 3D graphics card, entitled the "Triforce Board", which will be based off of the GameCube's architecture. The Board will be used in arcade and home console business.

  • Yesterday, Nintendo sponsored the 1st Annual "Animal Companion Appreciation Day". Mario and Yoshi made an appearance in order to promote Super Mario World: Mario Advance 2 for GameBoy Advance.
  • Nintendo announced today the control scheme for Kyojin no Doshin, the popular upcoming Japanese GameCube game.

  • Four Georgia Representatives recently sent a bill entitled the "Violent Video Game Protection Act" to the State Legislature that would, if passed, make it illegal to sell violent games(anything "M" rated) to anyone under 18.
  • According to the ISDA, video game sales in the United States last year were $6.35 billion. Video game piracy costed the industry $1.9 billion. That's a 30% loss in sales. The main reason for this are the video game pirates that run rampant in Korea and China.
  • In a recent interview, Shigeru Miyamoto stated that the new Zelda will not be going back to the realistic look, that they have changed Link's eyes, and that the backpack Mario wears in Mario Sunshine is indeed a water gun used to clean up paint that falls from the sky. He also stated that Yoshi will be in the game. However, it is not known Mario will be able to ride Yoshi in the game.
  • RoboTech.com released today the first ever screenshot of the Robo-Tech game for GameCube.

  • Smash Bros. hits the 1 million sales mark today.
  • Japanese GameCube game, Boku wa Kouku Kaneseikan 2, "I am Air Traffic Controller 2", has been cancelled.
  • It was announced today that Resident Evil 1 will use 8 blocks of memory. It was also announced today that there will be a third playable character in the game, Rebecca Chambers, which you can control every once and a while if you choose Chris.

  • Peter MacDougall recently presented at the recent Toy Fair some numbers of the GameCube and GameBoy's success.
  • GCN/GBA Link Cables have yet to be shipped, despite the fact that there are already linkable games on the market now.
  • Nickelodeon and THQ announce "Tak" and the "Power of JuJu" for PS2, GCN, and GBA today.
  • Nickelodeon and THQ deal to handle all properties through 2005.

  • EA announced today that their Harry Potter game for the Cube will be released November 15.
  • NewKidCo Internation Inc. announced today that they are developing Dr. Suess games for all platforms.
  • Nickelodeon and THQ announced today that they are working on GCN and GBA games.
  • Nintendo to hold an exhibition in the Shibuya building to show off some of their latest games.
  • Japanese developer Tomy announced today that it is working on a GameCube game based on Zoids.

  • GameCube Inside recently stated that the release date of the Japanese "card action RPG", Rune, is set for April 25.
  • Nyko to produce the Play-Cube controller, an adapter that lets you play your GameCube with your PlayStation controller.

  • Acclaim announced today that it is working on a new action title, Vexx, which includes multiple mystical and magical environments.
  • Startup company, Quiter Skip, Ltd., is currently working on an unititled RPG for GameCube. It is said that a former Chrono-Trigger team member is leading the project.
  • From Software recently released new screens of Japanese GCN game, Rune. It is still unknown if this game will come stateside.
  • Japanese GameCube game, Kyojin no Doshin, has been announced that it will be shipped with a memory card.

  • 3DO announced today that it plans to release 8 games on the Cube, including a new Army Men title.
  • Sonic Team announced that the only game they are currently focused on right now is PSO for GameCube, and that they haven't even started on the Xbox version.
  • Nintendo to showcase GCN games and game developers in Japan on February 16. Prizes include a Panasonic Q. A mystery guest is also said to appear.

  • Nintendo and Capcom announced today that they are working on a Biohazard bundle. It is expected to be released on the Japanese launch date of March 22. There are no known plans for a US release.
  • NOA President Tatsumi Kimishima presents Sonic the Hedgehog with his very own nametag in Redmond, WA.
  • Capcom reconfirms Biohazard's exclusivity to Nintendo today.

  • Capcom announced today that there will be 2 separate packages when Biohazard(Resident Evil) released in Japan on March 22, the regular game or a special edition with a special memory card. The number of blocks the game will use is still unknown.
  • In a poll on Nintendo.com, they are asking fans what they think about Zelda's new cartoony-look. Rumor has it that the results of this poll could effect the game itself.
