My resume

I am currently a full-time secretary, full-time college student, part-time mystery shopper and, along with my husband, caretaker of our apartment building. I also occupy myself with being a wife, mother of one and stepmom of two.

Full-Time Secretary

The company I currently work for, Red River Human Services Foundation, is a non-profit agency that provides various services for people with developmental disabilities. This is a wonderful company that assists people with developmental disabilities to expand their talents, interact with the community, and earn paychecks. You can check out their website (being constructed) at: www.rrhsf.org.

I currently work in the Wahpeton Day Service Facility office. I have been here since June 1, 2001 after transferring from the main office in Fargo when my husband and I moved from Fargo to Wahpeton in 2001.

I got my current job after the company I was a Veterinary Technician for had to close and I was suddenly unemployed. I got sick of this quicker than I would have imagined so went to Kelly Temps to get a temporary job until I could find another job as a Vet Tech. They had a job that was supposed to last "a month to a month and a half." That was at Red River Human Services. I started through Kelly Temps May 1, 1995 and was employed at Red River through Kelly Temps until February 1996. February 1997 I was promoted to full-time.

Full-Time Student

I am currently also a full time college student taking online courses through the University of Massachusetts - Lowell. I am taking four classes this semester:

I am planning on getting a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology with certificates in Web Page Design and Computer Networking, completing my degree sometime in 2004. So far, I have to say online college courses are challenging but fun!

Part-Time Mystery Shopper

I have been mystery shopping since 1998. Yes, it is a legitimate job, although it's harder for someone with no experience to get into the business today. Mystery shopping pays differently depending on the job. Some places will pay you an hourly wage, some places will reimburse you for a meal or some service, and some will do both. In exchange for this compensation, I will fill out forms and possibly write a short narrative on the customer service shown during the shop. I have come to really appreciate the differences in customer service and what constitutes good customer service. A customer will not hesitate to go to your competitor if you offer lousy customer service. AND, they will probably tell as many people as they can about how they were treated! Mystery shopping is an important tool for businesses to stay competitive. If you would like to learn more about mystery shopping, go to this website: Mystery Shopping Information. REMEMBER: You do NOT have to pay to get a list of companies (often outdated) that are hiring mystery shoppers...just search for yourself on the internet!

Caretaker

Not much to say about this. We clean up after the inconsiderate, immature slobs who live in our building. :-) Not that everyone who lives there is like that, thank goodness! Besides cleaning garbage off the lawn, we also shovel the sidewalks in the wintertime.
