14 INT. LAUNDROMAT -- NIGHT
The Robber 1 sets the basket down on a machine. He begins to fill one of the washers. He approaches the change machine, holding a couple of dollar bills, but the machine rejects them. After a sequence of several failed attempts, he begins to empty his pockets. He finds a few coins, but they don't seem enough. Then suddenly, as if he remembered something, he takes out the strange fake coin from his back pocket. With a satisfied grin on his face, he visually compares the coin with a quarter and proceeds toward the washer. As he reaches for the coin slot, something catches his eye. A large sign reads, 'No Foreign Objects in the Coin Slots (Slugs, Gum, etc.) Violators will be Prosecuted Accordingly.' He stops. He spots a security camera in the corner of the room. He starts to fiddle around with the coin. He looks at his watch. It's 1:00 am. He glances over to the door then starts to look around him. He stares at the coin in his hand. The doors CREAK open and the Clerk from the liquor store enters with a laundry bag. She sets her basket down and glances over at the Man 2. The Robber 1 cringes slightly. She makes a beeline toward him. The Robber 1 takes a step back, unconsciously tightening his grip on the foreign coin.
                                      CLERK
                            (with a bit of hesitation)
Excuse me, but? got any change to spare?
                      I'd really appreciate it?
A bit startled, the Robber 1 is motionless for a brief moment. The Clerk stares at him curiously. Suddenly, he snaps out of his trance and shakes his head. The Clerk lets out a sigh and begins to search her pockets once more. After a brief moment, they look at each other, and then start to gather their coin. Several coins spill over on top of the washing machine. Another set of coins is set free over it. Following a brief pause, the single fake coin falls on top of them. The mixed contents of the drier can be seen spinning chaotically through its glass door. The Woman Clerk and the Robber sit side by side in front of the spinning laundry. The Clerk is browsing through a Gun magazine. Fidgeting with his fingers, the Robber 1 glances over at the Clerk from time to time. She casually looks over at the Man. Their eyes meet and the two let out an awkward smile.
