Contraindications/Notes
Avoid using on open sores or burns.

When used as a laxative, do not use for more than
a week without medical advice.

Overuse can lead to cramping and loss
of electrolytes and Potassium deficiency.

Aloe should not be used during
pregnancy and lactation or given internally to children.

Active constituents and Effects
Contain anthraquinone glycosides
which cause laxative actions on intestines.

Aloes is the dried juice of the aloe plant.

Because of its nauseating taste, it is generally used
as powder or pill form when taken for a purgative,
tends to gripe and cause a constipative reaction.
It should be combined with a carminative for best results.
