Mission Statement

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Valdosta is committed to building a community of acceptance and love, where all people may strive for intellectual, moral and spiritual enlightenment. We offer a place to celebrate life's passages and to join in social action on behalf of local and global communities.   

Sunday Services

The  Church Service starts at 10:45 a.m. each Sunday.

 

Religious Education for children is held concurrent with the service.  For more information see the current newsletter below.

Welcome to Rev. Fred Howard!   

 

Fred Howard begins serving as our part time minister this month!   Leonard “Fred” Howard, MD, is a candidate for ministry in the Unitarian Universalist Association.   Fred welcomes any questions you may have about membership in our congregation. He is also available for weddings and rites of passage ceremonies by prearrangement.

Grateful for the religious pluralism which enriches and ennobles our faith, we are inspired to deepen our understanding and expand our vision. As free congregations we enter into this covenant, promising to one another our mutual trust and support.

A new chapter of PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) has formed in Valdosta.  Remember, bring a friend of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community!  PFLAG meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month at the UU church.

In observance of the first anniversary of the shooting at Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, the Rev. Chris Buice, invites all to join the UUA's Standing on the Side of Love campaign.
 

Standing on the Side of Love is a public advocacy campaign, sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Association, promoting respect for the inherent worth and dignity of every person. Standing on the Side of Love will confront exclusion, oppression and violence based on identity. Based in the aspiration to create beloved community, the campaign will pursue social change through advocacy, public witness and speaking out in solidarity with those whose lives are publicly demeaned. All people, not just Unitarian Universalists, are invited to stand, speak, worship, march, roll, and live on the side of the love.
