SHOOTING   IN   OREGON

by: Chris Kelly
aka ShadeofGrey

Want life?
yeah you do, so you take it
but what right is that of yours?
you didn't make it.

You didn't mold those people
build them with love, or nurture with time
all the intricacies of their personalities
all you did was commit a crime.

Thinking
of what? Nothing but you
yeah, explain that to the families of those people
asking, wondering, "now what do we do?"

Where's the justice?
How do we make the unthinkable right?
sticks and stones might break your bones
but either way, it's a sorry sight

Some kid, killing people
he doesn't even know what it means
to cut a soul short
or shatter someone's dreams

Is it just me
or are we watching social reruns?
maybe we should all embrace the stupidity
and just arm everybody with semi-automatic guns

Get real folks
pick your heads up, take a look around
there's millions of scared Americans watching the tube tonight
and one too many, laying dead on the ground.
