(a) [16 pts., 5 losers]

(b) [14 pts., 6 losers] ALERT! "Six to 14 HCP with 4+ diamonds and, usually, more than two in opener's suit."

(c) [6 pts., 8 1/2 losers] Since a double shows 9+ pts., usually balanced, the one notrump response will be somewhat less. The stopper should be a sure one to justify bidding with 6 to 8 points. With 6 pts., one should bid only with two kings, or, as in this case, a 7 HCP hand that has been reduced because of no aces. With 6 to 8 pts. without a sure stopper, just pass. If opener reopens with double, pull to 1NT when overcaller's suit is your best suit, and the hand contains 6 to 8 points.

(d) A nuicance bid to get them out of 1NT.

(e) PENALTY! A little iffy with a void in trumps. Counting on that opening club lead and the fact that overcaller probably has at least 3 clubs. It is penalty because responder's hand is "known".

(f) Low from a doubleton in partner's bid suit. (except: Kx, Ax, sometimes Qx)

(g) North continues clubs. The defense should end up with 3 diamond tricks, two clubs, and a heart (+ 200).
