Alex Mann looked at the classroom clock again. One minute until class started. Brandon was gong to be late again if he didn't hurry up. Just then Brandon burst into the classroom and took the seat in front of Alex.
"Did you sleep in again, or did you want to be late?" Alex teased.
"If you must know, I was doing some last minute packing." Brandon responded.
"So, you got permission?" Alex asked.
"Of course. I told you that last night."
"I know. Its just hard to believe our parents are letting us go on a car trip alone. This is going to be the best spring break ever!"

Practice was almost over for the football team. Alex was doing pushups when coach Grey chose that moment to walk over.
"Alex, I wanted to talk to you about Spring break." Alex stood up.
"What about it?"
"I think it will be in your best interests if you spend the week doing some special training."
"Sorry, I have other plans." Alex responded. Grey frowned.
"Alex, I wouldn't ask if it wasn't important. Did it ever occur to you that you might need this?" He said harshly.
Alex glared at him, anger rising.
"I go to all the practices, and I even practice extra at home. I don't think I need anymore."
Alex didn't wait for Grey's response, he just walked away.

Jason picked up Alex and Brandon a couple of hours after school. After packing the car and saying goodbye to their families, they were on the road. After an hour, Brandon noticed that Alex seemed distracted. He turned to look at him.
"Alex, what's wrong?"
"Nothing."
"Are you mad because you didn't get the front seat?"
"No."
"What is it, then? And don't say nothing."
Alex sighed and gave in.
"It's coach Grey. He said I should spend the week doing some 'special training'.
Jason and Brandon looked surprised.
"Why?" Jason asked.
"He said I needed it. I don't get it. If I'm so bad, why does he keep me on the team?"
Brandon shrugged.
"Don't let it bother you. Grey's just weird." Jason nodded.
"Yeah. Have you heard any of the stories?"
"What stories?" Alex asked, curious.
"I've heard that Grey isn't really a teacher. That he lied to the principle." Jason said.
"Why would he do that?"
"The rumor is that he wanted complete access to the workout room..." Brandon started.
"Because all the health centers around town thought he was a wuss and banned him from going in." Jason finished. Alex laughed at. Brandon smiled.
"That's better. Just forget about coach Grey. Right now lets concentrate on having fun." Alex grinned.
"You're right. So where are we going for dinner?"

Jason looked at the clock. It was 10:30 PM, and Brandon and Alex were already asleep. Jason was considering pulling over for the night when he saw a field of cows. An idea popped into his head. He woke up Alex and Brandon.
"Hey, you two." he said loudly. "Wake up!"
Brandon groaned.
"What?" he demanded.
"Get up, the first night of our spring break will begin." "Jason, what are you talking about?" Jason grinned.
"Have you ever went cow-tipping?"
"Cow-tipping? What's that?" Alex asked.
"I'll show you." Jason got out of the car and walked into the field. Brandon and Alex followed. he selected a nearby sleeping cow. He stepped up to it and tipped it over. The cow fell to the ground and woke up, mooing in complaint.
"My uncle and I used to do this all the time. Come on, try it." Jason said.
Alex was the first to give it a try. He chose a cow that sleeping near a tree. He had to admit it was slightly amusing. Brandon also tipped a few. After ten minutes, they took a break. They tipped a lot of cows, and there was a lot of mooing.
"I think we should stop before the owner wakes up." Jason said. There was a shout some distance away.
"Too late, I guess." Jason said with a smirk.
"I think we should leave." Alex said, pointing to the car. He and Brandon started to run towards it. Jason followed, not looking where he was going. He stepped on a pile of cow poop and slipped. Getting back up, he come face to face with a cow. He recognized it as the first cow he tipped. It was just staring at him, not making a sound. Other cows did the same. The field was strangely quiet all of a sudden. Nervously, he stepped back toward the car. For every step back he took, all the cows took one step forward. Deciding to make a break for it, he ran and hopped the fence. He opened the driver door and got in.
"Jason, are you okay?" Brandon asked as Jason started the car.
"I'm fine, but my shoe isn't." He replied.
Alex and Brandon both groaned, finally noticing the smell. As Jason put the car in drive, he looked at the rear-view mirror. The last thing he saw was all the cows lined up at the fence, just staring.
"I don't think I ever want to cow-tip again." He said as they drove away.
